INFANT KILLED WHEN FATHER BURNS HOME
Twenty-four-year-old Lorn Ling was arrested Saturday in Kampong Thom province on suspicion of killing his 2-month-old daughter by setting their house on fire. His wife, 23-year-old Roeun You, was also severely injured in the blaze, which police said Lorn Ling started after he had been arguing with his wife. The incident occurred Thursday in Sandan district.

PENURIOUS DRUNK KILLS FRIEND
Twenty-two-year-old Pei Sopheak died at hospital after his friend, 26-year-old Chroeng Khen, stabbed him with a knife while they were drinking together in Kampong Cham province's Kraleng Koet village, in Chamkar Leu district, on Wednesday night, police said. The attack happened after the two argued because Pei Sopheak refused to lend Chroeung Khen 1,000 riels (US$0.24). Police said that the suspect escaped to his hometown following his friend's killing, although he has yet to be located.

SISTERS ATTACKED IN BANTEAY MEANCHEY
Two sisters, aged 16 and 18 years old, were abducted and raped by three men while they were walking to a market in Mongkol Borei district, Banteay Meanchey province, on Thursday. Police said the pair left their home in the evening in order to buy food. As the pair were walking near a dam in Mongkol Borei, a group of three men riding motorbikes drove up, seized the pair and assaulted them. The suspects remain at large, police added.

WIFE-BEATER THREATEN SUICIDE
A drunkard in Banteay Meanchey province's Poipet town threatened to kill himself after police arrived at his home in response to a domestic dispute. Thirty-four-year-old Tep Moeun's wife complained to authorities that he had bludgeoned her with a stick. He then held a sickle to his neck as police surrounded him. Officers were eventually able to calm the man down and arrest him.
